Date: Saturday, Dec 7, 2024

Start time: 10:00 AM

End time: 5:00 PM

The Putnam is the preeminent mathematics competition for undergraduate college students in the United States and Canada. The competition is administered in two sessions (A and B). Each session lasts precisely three hours. Participants may start the A session on Dec. 2 at 10:00 AM. After completing the A session, participants will have a 2-hour break. The B session will start at 3:00 PM. During each session, participants work individually on six challenging mathematical problems.

The problems are famously interesting and famously challenging. Several examples will be appearing as "Problems of the Week" this year. Students should participate for the fun of thinking hard about interesting problems, and celebrate any progress on any problem.

Any actively enrolled undergraduate students who have not yet received a bachelors degree (and have not already competed four times previously) can participate in the competition. There is no fee to compete.
