Bridges is the premier international conference on mathematical connections in art, music, architecture, and culture. The conference features invited speakers, regular and short paper presentations, hands-on workshops, a juried art exhibition, and arts performance events such as a fashion show, a music evening, a film festival and more. The Bridges Organization oversees the annual Bridges conference. This international conference will take place at VCU in 2024.

Lodging

Gladding Residence Center 

The Gladding Residence Center, located at 711 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220, offers Semi-Suite style dorm rooms with the capacity of a single or a double. The bathroom is Jack and Jill style, where you will share the bathroom with another single or double room.

Gladding is right on campus, making it a quick walk to most of the conference events. If you are interested in booking a room(s) at Gladding please keep in mind that the Check in date is July 31st and the Check out date is August 6th. We are unable to offer varied check in and check out dates. In the interest form you will have the choice to select from the following options: 

Room Type: Semi-Suite Single ($59/night per person) or Semi-Suite Double ($47/per night per person) 
Optional Add-ons: Linens*($35) and Parking($19)
 *Linen Pack includes : 1-Thermal Blanket, 1-Fleece blanket, 2-Flat Sheets, 1-Pillow, 1-Pillow case, 1-Bath Towel, 1-Washcloth, 1 plastic bag for return. 
Roommate Selection: The name of the person you want to share a room with; if you don’t have a roommate in mind we will gather more information in order to pair people up.
Suitemate Selection: The name/s of your suitemate preference; if you don’t have a preference please write “no preference” or “n/a”.

The Graduate Hotel

Located at 301 W Franklin St, Richmond, VA 23220, is about a half mile away from campus and most of the Conference Events. You could walk, drive, use a Spin Scooter, or Uber/Lyft from the hotel to campus. 

A perk of this location is its Rooftop Bar, The Byrd House, and its proximity to campus!

Registration

Registration for VCU faculty, staff, and students and their guests is free and requires filling out the VCU Affiliate Registration Google Form by July 15, 2024.
