The workshop will focus on topics in algebra that already have, or are likely to have, connections with set theory, especially those involving the nonstationary ideal and set-theoretic elementary submodel techniques. Recent examples of interactions of this kind include:

• Approximation theory (e.g., precovering & deconstructible classes in abelian categories, complete cotorsion pairs, weak factorization systems)
• Algebraic constructions associated with the nonstationary ideal (e.g., nonstationary support products of abelian groups).

The workshop will be a relatively informal mix of tutorials, discussion, and Q&A sessions. Tutorials will be given by:
